What to bring

Excessive barking is prohibited in the kennel. If barking is unable to be controlled, your pet may be dismissed from services. We strive to create a low stress environment for every animal that comes into the building and that means maintaining a calm and comfortable kennel by reducing common stressors when away from home. We work very hard to ensure your pets comfort while in our care. Additional calming medication may be required if you pet is unable to rest. We encourage rest time just as much as playtime. A tired dog is a good dog, but a well-regulated dog is even better. All efforts will be made during your dog's stay to help reduce separation anxiety and over stimulation. We offer three room styles in an effort to create 3 possible environments for your dog to settle in. We also offer ample opportunity outside in our large yards. HVL's goal is to find where and how your dog will thrive in a kennel environment. We cannot replicate you're at home setting, but we can do our best to help your dog feel as close to a home as possible by offering large room options, a small variety of enrichment activities, and as much time with staff members as possible. Your pet's comfort is our priority!

Kennel Training

We utilize crates in the daytime for our daycare services. Kennel training encourages dogs to settle in their own space and creates a sense of independence. Kennel training in the day also makes the transition to boarding much easier. Teaching your dog how to be comfortable when left alone is one of many crucial skills to a well-rounded pup. We try to reduce stress and overstimulation throughout the entire facility by finding where and how your dog will be most comfortable when away from home. Let us help you by helping your dog become comfortable in confinement! We always recommend AT LEAST one day with our daytime services prior to boarding. This helps your dog acclimate to the facility faster, gives our handlers a solid introduction to your pup and sets them up for the most success and comfort while you are away.

A la carte enrichment

nature hike- $10- walk the trail! Our facility sits on 14 beautiful acres. We have a nature trail that wraps around the back of the property. Your pup will walk and sniff along the trail with a staff member while on a long lead
puzzle toy- $5
frozen kong- $3
snacks and snuggles- $5- Spend time with a staff member to get some extra one on one attention and enjoy a few extra treats.
free play- $8- solo playtime with a staff member in a yard or indoor arena

Yes, we do still love on and play with your pet even if you do not add on extra activities. The purpose of the menu is to allow you to add additional one on one time with your dog as well as curate a personalized experience for your spoiled pooch. Every pet gets a good night enrichment snack at bedtime and interacts with staff during their let-out times.
